1896 Rudge-Wedge No 21 Full Roadster

£3,500.00

This rare machine is an excellent restored example. The Rudge marque enthusiast informs that its frame number suggests manufacture in 1896. It is very similar to the 1896 Rudge-Whitworth catalogue illustration above. However, there are no holes in the headstock for a badge, which, in his opinion means that it is in fact a Rudge-Wedge, which were built of the same parts.

It was common practise with major manufacturers to sell off batches of older frames through the trade. Rudge Wedge used Rudge-Whitworth frames, so that’s the most likely explanation for an earlier frame than components.
